I moved my New Zealand images over to my main work station yesterday and there is over 80 gigs of images. Not hard to make this size file when you shoot with a Phase One IQ180 camera. So now the editing begins and then the post on each image. There are so many good ones. So I think through the rest of the year I’ll plenty to share. I have a ton of other images I haven’t posted here from Death Valley, Moab and other places. So, there is not a lack of content. Todays image was also shot in the Rees Valley of New Zealand. We were driving up this dirt road that they call tracks in New Zealand and came across this river or very large stream. Lots of rapids and mountains and greenish water. So we all stopped and did pictures. This is one of the images I made. Like the vertical and horizontal movements happening as well as the rooks and tree. Enjoy.

New Zealand Day 1
So, I arrived in new Zealand today and picked up the rental car and went to the house we rented for a few days so we can prepare for the PODAS workshop that starts on Wednesday. The house is on the top of a mountain and looks down on Queenstown. So I unpacked my Phase One back (iq180) and ALPA camera and captured this image. This area is just amazing and I have been told we haven’t even begun to explore the possible locations. I have two weeks of shooting here and after tonight I am anxious to see what is next. So, stay tuned it will be an amazing time here.
Arches
Near Moab Utah there are two incredible National Parks, Canyon-lands and Arches. In Arches there are some incredible views. This is one of them. I messed around with it in an program called TOPAZ and turned into a painterly look. Just something different and it looks cool.
Off To Death VAlley
It seems I only unpacked my bags from Denmark. Now I am in bag packing mode again. Camera gear is all set and I am shipping it today to Death Valley where I will be for the next ten days leading a group of Chinese photographers on a PODAS workshop. This will be a fun trip and present a few language challenges. However, I have worked a lot with the Chinese in the last year and they are very nice. I hope to show them the real beauty of Death Valley and some of my special spots there. Starting next week look for some images from the trip and you can always catch up on daily activities at the PODAS BLOG.
Ring My Bell
The back roads of the Palouse offer many surprises and that is one of the things that makes that area so special. On one of the back roads there is a place I call the Bell House. Simply because it has hundreds of bells all over the place. These bells line the pro[prty line, extend around the house driveway and everywhere. Big bells, small bells. Pretty cool hobby collecting bells. This is a shot of one of the bells. Just a fun shot.
Old Truck
The Palouse is full of old trucks. Vary rarely though do you happen to find a garage where you find an old 1940’s vintage truck just siting there like it was parked yesterday. This one place I found was completely untouched with magazines dating to 1945. Kind of amazing it has lasted this long. Anyway I took a lot of images in this garage. This is a shot where I worked on it a bit to make it feel older. I hope to soon be sharing some of the dramatic landscape images.
This Is The Palouse
The above image pretty much says it all about the Palouse. I head home after a week here shooting and leading a PODAS workshop. It was a lot of fun. We had 28 attendees from around the world and made some new friends. Photography open so many doors and it so much fun to meet people who have the same passion. What a great week.
Palouse Truck
As you may know by reading the blog I am in the Palouse running a fun and exciting workshop. Visit www.podas.info to view the images and activities. This image was taken at a property near endicott. This very nice and interesting man has built an old time Texaco gas station out in the middle of no where. There are old cars, old gas pumps and other cool stuff. This is the from of one of the old cars. There are so many good images coming out of this trip. I’ll have more soon.
Sunset Over Marathon
Last evening i was visiting some friends in Marathon, FL. This is one of my friends that I have stayed in touch with from High School and she has been working for years in keys with Dolphin. On the way there the sun was setting and I had my oldest son Kevin Jr. with me. And at his urging we pulled over and did a number of captures of a most magnificent sunset. This one shot jazzed up a bit in SnapSpeed on my iPad. IT was a very spectacular sunset!
Old Lady In A Hurry
One things I enjoy doing is street photography. Shooting people and scenes while walking around a town or an area. This shot was made in Buenos Aires and is of an hunched over lady rushing up the street and on a mission. She was moving very fast. I liked the wall, color of her clothing and the packages she was carrying.
