As you have seen from previous posts I like doing street photography. Wandering around Reykjavík, Iceland oner afternoon I came across this store window. Couldn’t help think how different this was from the Victoria Secret windows in the US. This was shot on an iPhone 4 and then worked on in several apps. I guess when you have the long winters like Iceland does that a store like this must sell a number of these.

Guitar
At a recent event in Carmel, we stumbled upon a guy playing a most unique looking guitar. Kind of like 3 guitars in one. It sounded beautiful and it looked beautiful. This was taken with the iPhone and played with a little. Simple and nice.
Death Valley Junction
One of my favorite places to do photography is Death Valley. It is a most remarkable place with a ton of things to photograph. As you know if you are a regular reader I am a big fan of rust and decay and I was fortunate to find this old Borax mine in Death Valley Junction. This locations is about 45 minutes from the park itself. I played with this image by shooting it with a P65+ then importing into my iPhone where I applied some effects then took it back to Capture One for some more adjustments. Just a little fun with an interesting image.
Back To Boats
A few days ago I posted a photo done on a small boat. From the same series I post this image. The image was shot with a 5dII and then imported into my iPhone gallery. Then one evening I was messing around with a new app (they are so addicting) and the end result is what you see here. Light, shadow, angles and textures all work. Hope you enjoy it.
Red Stairs NY Times Square
No matter how many times I visit Times Square I always find a new way to photograph it. This is a shot I did uing the iPhone and an app called See This. So simple to use with some cool results. I think took the picture into PictureShow and messed with it until I got what you see.
Everybody Does Flowers
As photographers we are all attracted to flowers. And, why not? They are colorful, beautiful and smell good. Part of the attraction for many shooters I believe is the challenge of doing a close up and then seeing the detail in the images. As time goes on you’ll see some more flower photos here. Today though I present a tulip photographed in Holland, Michigan. Every spring Holland opens up the town for the annual tulip festival. There are fields of tulips blooming and hundreds of varieties. This shot was made with a Canon 5dII and a macro lens. I then took it into my iPhone and messed with it using an app called Picture Show. I exported it did a bit more work in PhotoShop and here you have it. Simple and nice.
For some really great images of flowers and nature embodying the human form please visit my friends website Barbara Ventura. Her work is gorgeous.
Pan Head Billy
This photo is one of those photos that just happens. I was shooting around Artists Palette in Death Valley and there was this guy leaning against his motorcycle admiring the light on the mountain. I took a shot and the original photo was of his back. Well, I decided to go up and talk to this guy. He was a fascinating guy and had been on the road for 17 years. His nick name was “Pan Head Billy”. As the light started to diminish and turn golden I asked if he would mind posing. So he took this pose and I took the shot. The detail on this image shows all his belongings he carries with him, his ruggedness and confidence. I put the image in my gallery and one day was messing with it on some of the apps I had and ended up with this. Hope you enjoy it.
