Reflections Of Color

Copenhagen reflections
Copenhagen reflections

I love shooting in citys and I like to do what we photographers would call street photography.  I shot this image in Copenhagen walking the streets.  I looked into a canal which I was walking along and the light and colors were creating amazing reflections.  I took this shot after a Kayaker had just past and the water was still in a ripple effect.  Almost like a painting.

Norway Countryside

Norway is a very beautiful country with Waterfalls, lakes, and rolling his as well as some huge peaks with deep fjords.  I spent a week there a few years ago and I am now in the midst of planning a PODAS workshop there in 2014.  This is a shot I love just because the god of light was watching out for me.  The sun just hot this little farm perfectly.

One Of My Many Images Of The Redwood Forrest

In norther California there is magnificent area called the Redwood Forrest.  Giant moss covered trees and a beautiful area.  You can wander the road pull off and take a short hike into these woods and always come back with exceptional images.  I used a Phase One P65+ to do these shot.  The detail in the prints which I have enlarged to 48×55 is amazing.

A Long Forgotten Church

A very old church in Scotland
A very old church in Scotland

Scotland had many great places to visit and I still have a list for my next visit. I returned with so many nice images.  My shooting companion on this trip Steve Gosling and I spent a while at this church shooting.  I wonder why it was abandoned so long ago?  It had so many great spots to shoot.  I even did a real nice PAno there.  I’ll post that sometime in the future.  I liked this shot looking up at the church and using the grave stones as a way to lead they eye into the shot.

Scotland

Scotland 2012How do you describe what it is like to be a photographer in Scotland.  It’s an amazing place and almost every time you turn your head you find a scene worth photographing.  Being there this past fall we had great color and great light as can be seen in this stunning shot.  This is one of the classic places to shoot in Scotland.  Water, cold and a mountain.

It’s not too often one gets to travel to the edge of the planet.  UI am very fortunate to have traveled to many edges of the planet and one of my favorite is Earnslaw Burn in New Zealand.  I had my friend and instructor on the PODAS workshop take a picture of me there.  Think I’ll give this to my mon for Christmas.  It has been an amazing time in New Zealand with so many good images that I’ll be editing for the winter.  Now it is head home in a  few days for the Holidays then it is off to Bangkok and China in January.
