While in Ushuaia one of the southern most cities in South America I came across this shot. Two boats and old life boat and some other boat. Not sure if they are related but the shot works with foreground and background. It is kind of ghostly so I messed with the image somewhat to give it a different look.

The Machine
Creeping around a limestone quarry near Bloomington, In we found these buildings. Alls worn out with big warning signs on them. I peeked in the window of one of the operations and saw this machine. So, I shot an HDR sequence and then messed with the image some more in a few apps to create this image.
An Excellent Week In Copenhagen Continues
This has been a intense week in Denmark with a lot being accomplished business wise with Phase One. In between work I do find sometime to take pictures and I have quite a selection of colorful and nice images I am collecting. Copenhagen waterfront is a real nice place to visit. There are all sorts of boats and a unique charm and mix of building. Here is one classic shot a sailboat and a tugboat. Shot on an iPhone on the way to dinner.
Reflections
I am still in Copenhagen. It has been a very busy and productive week so far. Almost done. Lots accomplished even some good photos. This one is reflections in the canal. Amazing what you can see after a few Danish beers.
State Fair Barn
While visiting the state fair last week I walked past some horse stables. I kind of saw something in this shot with the decorations, golf cart and stuff that was there. Kind of a sur-real set up. So I shot it using the iPhone. I kind of like it.
Nyhaven – Copenhagen, Denmark
There is this area in Copenhagen that in the old days used to be a rough area and typical of the wharfs of cities. But a while back this area was revitalized to be a popular destination. Known as Nyhaven it is a harbor where ships tie up. Now all the store fronts are restaurants and bars and outdoor cafes. It is a great place to visit, very colorful, in many ways and lots to do. I decided to try something new and get very creative. This is a different kind of view of Nyhaven. let me know what you think.
A Beautiful Day In Copenhagen
When it is nice – it is really nice in Copenhagen. Today was an extraordinary day. After a long flight I explored the city with a work colleague and then after a nap I went out shooting. This image I love. Little girl running excited about the fountain. You can read a lot into it. Shot with an iPhone hipstamatic.
Off To Copenhagen
I am off to Copenhagen today through JFK. I have a busy week doing a number of different things while in Denmark, I will be prepping the launch for the 2013 PODAS workshop series as well as meeting with internal depts. and some special customers. Should have some cool shots of Copenhagen to share along the way. This image was made in the Round Tower. A cool place to visit. Back in the old days the King made this so he could drive his carriage to the highest point in Copenhagen and view his kingdom. I have walked up this path to the top and all I can say is poor horse. I do love the light and how it plays with the walls and arches.
La Sal Mountains near Moab
On a trip to Moab with a number of my photographer friends we took a four wheeler ride to the top of some very rocky hill and at the end we were given a contrasting and dramatic view of the La Sal Mountains that are quite visible from Moab. I like the way the foreground contrast with the distant mountains. Shot with a Phase One IQ180.
Up Close and Personal
I have had the chance to see a lot of whales through my travels. Each time is special. I have a great collection of what I call whale tails. These are images of the tails of whales as they expose them before a deep dive. Water pouting off of them and just incredible. This is a shot of a whale we were real close to in New Foundland. We were out on a Zodiac looking for whales and whales found us. I loved the grace of the image and the hump and curve of the whale as it swam next to us.
