Too Surreal

Rooster and The Old Town
Rooster and The Old Town

Yesterday I was doing  video shoot comparing two new cameras for Luminous-landscape.  The shoot went well and we compared the two hot cameras today, the fuji X-T1 and the Olympus O-EM1.  On the easy back for an amazing shoot in Zion National Park we stumbled upon what could be best described as a tourist trap.  It was all roped of and obviously closed for the season.  However that didn’t stop me from shooting from the road and parking lot.  I was setting up the shot and just like that a rooster appeared in the frame at the exact correct position.  I did the shot and thanked the rooster.  Seem the rooster has done this before.

Humpbacks and Icebergs

Humpback Whale and Icebergs
Humpback Whale and Icebergs

There is nothing better than being amongst some amazing icebergs and have a whale sighting.  For this image we were cruising in the iceberg graveyard when a humpback surfaces and the image was made even better by the iceberg background.  This is what visiting the Antarctica region is all about.

Old Irish School House

Old Irish School House

I was going through and doing cataloging of some of my images from the last few years and stumbled upon this one.  I have a ton of older images that I have made a vow to get organized.  So, this an abandoned school house that sits on a hill and overlooks the ocean.  The location is beautiful.  If I was a student at this school I would have been day dreaming of big ocean adventures everyday.  Guess they abandoned it because none of the students could concentrate on school work.

Fields From Afar

Farm Fields near Metztitlan, Mexico
Farm Fields near Metztitlan, Mexico

I was visiting Mexico recently and my Friend Micahel along with Lars traveled into the heart of Mexico to do some landscape photography.  We traveled many back roads and some of these were treacherous.  This image was made near Metztitlan, Mexico.  I shot it from a hillside as the sun was setting.  The low light offered some nice shadows and textures.  You can view the location for this shot by CLICKING HERE.

Sunset, Oh Yeah

Sunset, Iceberg Graveyard, Antarctica
Sunset, Iceberg Graveyard, Antarctica

Ok, it’s a sunset.  But, it’s a cool sunset.  Antarctica has lovely sunsets.  They last a long time and have amazing color.  This was one shot from the ship after we finished an amazing zodiac cruise through the Iceberg Graveyard.  A great way to end what had been a 20 hour day of photography.
