This November I am holding a very special photo workshop in Arizona covering Monument Valley and The Slot Canyons near Page. At aPAge we will be shooting some amazing canyons and a few no tourists go to. This is a shot in Antelope with the beam of sunshine going through. I like this one because it is passing through and not landing on the floor of the canyon or wall. Shot with an IQ 180 this image has amazing detail.
It feels so good to be shooting and especially when you are in the woods outdoors and stumble upon a shot like this. This was at Rickets Glen in Pennsylvania. Lots of waterfalls there. This shot was taken through the trees (obviously). I wanted to combine the fall colors with the waterfall equally. I really love the feel of this image and how it is simple and pleasing to look at. I love traveling the back roads. So, after shooting to my hearts content in Moab, I decided it was time to travel some back roads. These involved crossing over a few small mountains. This field we found doing this trip and the sun was beginning to set giving nice light. Shot with an IQ180 this image is super sharp and has great color tonal range.
You have to get up early to do great photography, and that is no different when shooting in the city and trying to make sure tourists don’t ruin your shot. This is the famous Chicago Bean. It offers a multitude of image possibilities with all the reflections and such. Normally during the day there are always hundreds of people with their point and shoots taking shots. So, get there early when the sun is coming up and have the whole place to your self.
While in Ushuaia one of the southern most cities in South America I came across this shot. Two boats and old life boat and some other boat. Not sure if they are related but the shot works with foreground and background. It is kind of ghostly so I messed with the image somewhat to give it a different look.
Creeping around a limestone quarry near Bloomington, In we found these buildings. Alls worn out with big warning signs on them. I peeked in the window of one of the operations and saw this machine. So, I shot an HDR sequence and then messed with the image some more in a few apps to create this image.
This has been a intense week in Denmark with a lot being accomplished business wise with Phase One. In between work I do find sometime to take pictures and I have quite a selection of colorful and nice images I am collecting. Copenhagen waterfront is a real nice place to visit. There are all sorts of boats and a unique charm and mix of building. Here is one classic shot a sailboat and a tugboat. Shot on an iPhone on the way to dinner.
I am still in Copenhagen. It has been a very busy and productive week so far. Almost done. Lots accomplished even some good photos. This one is reflections in the canal. Amazing what you can see after a few Danish beers.
While visiting the state fair last week I walked past some horse stables. I kind of saw something in this shot with the decorations, golf cart and stuff that was there. Kind of a sur-real set up. So I shot it using the iPhone. I kind of like it.
There is this area in Copenhagen that in the old days used to be a rough area and typical of the wharfs of cities. But a while back this area was revitalized to be a popular destination. Known as Nyhaven it is a harbor where ships tie up. Now all the store fronts are restaurants and bars and outdoor cafes. It is a great place to visit, very colorful, in many ways and lots to do. I decided to try something new and get very creative. This is a different kind of view of Nyhaven. let me know what you think.
