Tango Girl

Tango Girl, La Boca, Buenos Aires

There is a lot to like about Buenos Aires.  It is a city of color, intrigue, danger and some pretty cool people.  In the La Boca area of the city is a charming colorful section of shops and homes.  Mostly made of corrugated tin.  On the streets there are couples that grab tourists and tango with them, for a price of course.  everyone has their hand out for the dollar.  So, while enjoying this area photographically I saw this girl waiting for her next dance.  I loved the image because of the leg and head and the way they looked.   I took the images made with a Canon 5dII and put it in my iPad and manipulated it using a great new program called snapseed.  I will post another image tomorrow from the same area.

Rust and Rope

Rusty Ship - Buenos Aires

Thought it was time for a rust shot.  I love rust and have quite a few new images on the subject so prepare yourself in the coming weeks.  This was shot in Buenos Aires of an old abandoned ship at dock.  It literally looks like one day they docked the ship and then just walked away from it. There are dozens of these ships along several docks in Buenos Aires.

Rusty Texture

Rusty Boat - Buenos Aires, Argentina

Since I did a pattern shot yesterday, why not texture today?  So, here is a rusty art photo.  I love rust and anyone following this blog knows that.  This is rust from a ship in Argentina.  Buenos Aires seems to be a good city for rust.  This was found on an old boat being scrapped.

Rusty Ships

Rusty Ship ...Buenos AIres - Argentina

I have been to Buenos Aires several times and like to take walks where the normal tourist  doesn’t go.  come to find out that many places I have visited on these walks are quite dangerous.  I guess I have been lucky to have never been bothered.  This image is along a dock in the harbor.  There is a long line of ships docked along a pier that look like they were docked there 20 years ago and forgotten.  Buenos Aires is full of rust.  I have posted some other rusty ships previously.   This ship just had the skeleton left as anything of value was stripped off of it.  I took my chances boarding this ship and walking on very rusty and rotten floors to get into position to shoot this shot.  It has everything I love – rust and peeling paint and nice geometry.  Look for more rusty ships in the future. My son being the soldier he is insists that next time I take him as my PSD.  That is not short for a file extension but for Personal Security Detail.

Rusty

Rusty Ship - Buenos Aires, Argentina

I am in Naples, FL and it is freezing cold.  What’s that all about?  At least the sun is out. I was in one of my rusty moods today so I present Rusty Ship. This was photographed in Buenos Aires along a dock where there were dozens of abandoned ships. Looks like they just tied them up one day and walked away. I have a lot of nice images shot at this location, so count on seeing more. Everyone that knows me knows I like rusty things. Just a bit of an FYI about this image for the techies out there. There was a rope going across the frame. I removed it using content aware tool in Photoshop then used Nik – Viveza to work the colors a bit. Makes for a nice shot.

One Of My Favorites

Boy On Street, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Merry Christmas . . . Hope you and your families are enjoying a great day.  I am having a good time in Florida with my family. This is one of my favorite images. It encompasses al the things I like about photography – color, geometry, placement of subject and mood. It was photographed on the streets of Buenos Aires, Argentina. I enjoy street photography as we know it in the photography world and I’ll share a lot of my street photography as we move forward. This was shot with a Canon 5dII with a 70-300 DF lens. The advantage of this lens is it has a good zoom ratio but is compact. Makes catching a shot like this easy.
