Iceland Geo Thermal Field

Geo Thermal Field, Iceland
Geo Thermal Field, Iceland

I am getting stoked to go back to Iceland in 5 weeks.  So it’s fun to go through all my previous images and see what I have shot before.  This is one image from one of the many geo thermal fields that can be found in Iceland.  They look very unique.  Too bad you can’t smell how bad they are. Like two million rotten eggs.

Little House In Alaska

Alaska is a great frontier and such a beautiful state.  I

was very fortunate on my last trip to Denali to have clear weather and I got some great shots go McKinley.  This is a shot taken on one of side roads and it was just set up perfectly.  Little cottage on a lake with reflection and mountains in the back ground.

Pixel

Pixel The Cat
Pixel The Cat

Pixel is now 9 months old. I never intended to have a cat. Never even thought I was a cat person. Then while visiting the Humane Society of Indianaplois with Debra to help her select a cat I saw this cute kitten in one of the cages. I asked if I could see her and they took her out of the cage. She was only 8 weeks old and so tiny I could hold here in the palm of my hand. She looked at me, big intense eyes, then she closed them as only a cat could do when they were content, and she had me. She had a rough start and was quite sick for a week a few days after I got her home, but she is a fighter and has grown into an incredible beautiful and loving animal. This cat and I have become one. She has changed my life with her spirit, adventures, and her ability to know when it is time to give her affection. She plays fetch with rubber bands, explores everything, has her own language and is quite the talker and does funny things that make me laugh. She has made me a better person. Who would have known? And, with what I do there was not a better name than Pixel. I guess you can tell I am a proud daddy.

Another What Is It

This is the side of a mountain near Chamonix, France
This is the side of a mountain near Chamonix, France

Sometimes if you don’t see the whole you are wondering what you are looking at.  I shot this from the top of the alps above a small village of Chamonix.  The Alps are incredible and I’ll be shooting some more this fall in the Dolomites, Italy.  WHat you are looking at is a side of a mountain loaded with snow.  Some of the snow has broken off and some has suited to make a most amazing pattern and design.  This is what I would call a dynamic landscape as it is always changing.  I might have the only image of this as avalanches and melting or additional snow could have changed its look.

Scottish Sunrise

Sunrise, Scotland
Sunrise, Scotland

Sorry, it has been a few days since my last post.  I strive to a post a day but sometimes regular life and work are moving too fast .  I am back on a more even keel and  don’t travel again for about a week.  Then I am off to Utah.  That should be a great trip.  This image I made in Scotland a few months back.  On the last morning in Scotland we drove by this location that for whole week was so fog shrouded you couldn’t see 20 feet.  then bam, the day was perfect, clear and still.  This was one of those magic moments photographers love.  I remember standing there as the sun came up, the shadows changed and just kept saying wow!
