I was visiting my good friend Micahel Reichmann in San Miguel Mexico and across the street from him is a bull fighting ring. It’s kind of funny as it sits in the middle of a neighborhood. This is a shot of a cool looking water cart they drag around the bull ring to keep the dust down.

Lady In Doorway
There is an oasis in the middle of Mexico known as San Miguel Allende. This a town that is hard to describe except that it has a charm that you don’t expect. It’s a great place for street photography as well as landscape photography. This is a shot made on the street of a doorway and a woman sitting in it.
Church
This is an image photographed in a small village near San Miguel, Mexico. Inside the church was a large pilgrimage of 1000 plus men. I have some interesting images from the inside but when I went outside I saw this part of the church. I loved the colors and the all the details.
Stacks
Near San Miguel, Mexico is an abandoned mining area. The place has all sorts of cool things to shoot. One that stands out are the stacks or chimneys used for some of the kilns. This is a shot of the stacks with some cactus thrown in for foreground. Shot with a Phase One IQ 180 back.
A Little Mexico Color
I have posted many images from San Miguel and maybe it is because I like the place and it has such color. Here is another one taken off the town square. I wanted the diagonals to play a part in the photo as well as the striking color contrast.
Abandoned Hotel In Mexico
I just love this place. Outside San Miguel there is a hotel that is 60% finished and then one day while building it they figured out it was not a good idea to build a hotel under a dam that may break someday and flood the place out. No matter what you think of all the planning that went into this before discovering such a thing, it did leave a cool place to take pictures. I like this shot because it has symmetry. I am kind of big on that as one of my styles in photography. This was shot with a Phase One IQ180 that has super ability to see drk and highlight detail. Notice how you can see detail in ceilings of the hotel rooms. This camera in addition to this dynamic range is also 80 megapixels so the detail is just amazing.
Pilgrims Bed
On my recent trip to Mexico I had the opportunity to visit a church not too far from San Miguel where there was a pilgrimage of about 1000 men. They come to this church for a week of worship. They all sleep there and everyone sets up a sleeping area like you see above. Pretty amazing place and some great images were made there.
A Little Bit Of Me
OK, yesterday was a kid in the window, today it is me in the mirror. I like trying to include myself in some images I make. What more can I say?
Windows
Here is another shot made at the abandoned hotel in San Miguel, Mexico. This was such a fun place to shoot. I embellished the image a bit to add to the mood and overall despair of this building. Shot with a Phase One IQ180 this image has spectacular detail and allows me to hold the dynamic exposure range of highlights to shadows.
Mexican Hotel Room
On my PODAS workshop trip in Mexico, we had the chance to shoot in an abandoned hotel, This hotel was well on its way to being luxury hotel until they figured out it was sitting under a dam and the dam just might someday break and wipe out the hotel and its guests. Sounds like good planning to me. This is a shot of one of the hotel rooms that never got finished. Shot with a Phase One IQ 180 and 28mm lens.
