In Iceland as you travel the country you can’t help but notice small churches all with red roofs. Most of these are at great KODAK moment locations. One particular church sits on top of a large hill. I have some great shots of this church and it is in line to be published here. This shot is the interior of one church. I had my Phase One 60 megapixel back with me and I loved the way the light came in the window to light the bible. It is tach sharp to, because I used the large megapixel camera. You can read all the words in the bible.

It’s Cold So More Ice It Is
Here is another image from the Jökulsárlón Iceberg Lagoon. I have also posted a gallery of Iceland Images under the gallery menu of this blog.
Jökulsárlón – Iceberg Lagoon, Iceland
This another one of those images that you could probably never reproduce. It was shot at 2AM approximately and I was hanging around the iceberg lagoon shooting a ton of great images. Then the light came and boy did it come. I have a few dozen spectacular shots. Then it was gone , just like that. This was shot with a Phase One IQ 180 so the detail is amazing. I have a 4×6 foot image of one of the shots in this series in my office.
Iceland Waterfall
If you have ever visited Iceland you know there are a lot of waterfalls. I like to make things look a bit different so I shot this waterfall in a way where you can’t see the top of bottom and what you get is nice water and great rock texture. I like this shot and the way it works.’
Iceland Ice
Ice is so incredible. IT is not cliched. You can’t take a pictures of a glacier or ice berg and come back in an hour and shoot the same shot. It’s dynamic. Here today gone tomorrow. That’s one of the reasons I love shooting ice in many parts of the world. So, todays image was made at the very popular Jökulsárlón lake or lagoon in Iceland. Movies have been shot here and it is visited by almost everyone that comes to visit Iceland, but it usually never fails to give incredible images. This image was made this past June at 3:30 AM. It doesn’t get dark that time of year but the light does change for just a little while. It gets cold and blue and an erie kind of color is there, almost light with out color. So, I shot this with a long lens with the moon coming up. I have another from this same series I will publish later.
Stinky
Funny how some picture can look nice but if you were actually present when the shot was made you would think differently. This image was made in one of the geo-thermal fields scattered all over Iceland. It’s great that these fields provide a self sustainable power resource for the country. But, they smell so bad due to high sulfur content, that shooting pictures here can make you feel nauseous. It is worth it though and I did come away with many excellent images from this shoot.
Vegas Color
One of the coolest place to visit in Las Vegas is the neon Boneyard Museum. This is where many of the old and classic Las Vegas signs have been taken as they get updated. A place of color, peeling paint, and rust. All the things I like.
Waterfalls and Rainbows
Trying to type a few sentences and my new kitten seems to want to help. She has a fascination with keyboards and screen cursors. This shot was made earlier this summer in iceland, one of my favorite spots of all time. This is a waterfall and it was at sunset creating a very cool rainbow. Shot with a Phase One IQ180.
More Ice – More Heat
It will be 104 in Indianapolis today. Good day to stay in and watch a Clint Eastwood marathon. Too hot to venture out so I will clean the house, do some Phase One stuff, make prints, and play with my kitten. I will make a pitcher of lemonade and stay as cool as I can. Today’s shot is from an iceberg in Iceland. I think I should have stayed there. I like their climate a lot at least this time of year.
The Bubble
One very touristy place in Iceland is the Geyser. I ma not much for these kind of places, but none the less myself and friends visited this location. It erupts every few minutes and everyone enjoys it. This is the bubble a fraction of a second before it turns into a Geyser. Thought it was different and thus it has made the blog today.
