Train

Train 1 French likSorry, it has been very busy with a lot of projects and I haven’t been able to find time to post.  So, I’m back and will try to my daily postings again.  This was made yesterday in French Lick, IN.  There is a large train museum and old train depot.  A photographers paradise.  This isn’t the last you’ll be seeing from yesterday’s shoot.

Back In The Game

Pano At The Indianapolis Indians Game
Pano At The Indianapolis Indians Game

It’s been a while and I have seriously neglected this site and Facebook.  Sometimes you get to a point it gets too busy to anything else.  Lately with the Luminous-Landscape site I am doing so many cool projects and travel I have not had an extra minute in the day.  I can now see the light in the tunnel though and felt I need to get back to my blog and sharing my images.  So, today we have Take Me To The Ball Game #1.  Tis is  handheld stitch done at one of the Indianapolis Indian games.  To read an article I write on making these kind of images click HERE.

Welcome to RaberEYES Gallery at the Stutz
Welcome to RaberEYES Gallery at the Stutz

We had our gallery open house on Friday night at the Stutz. The place was mobbed. Thousands came. We were packed all night long and had a very successful evening in so many ways. Met some great people, made some sales, discussed projects with many folks. It was a long night, exhausting but oh so good!!!!! Enjoy some images from Friday, we do it all over again today from 2PM – 7PM.

Mighty Midway

The Aircraft Carrier Midway, San Diego, CA
The Aircraft Carrier Midway, San Diego, CA

On my recent trip to San Diego for some business and pleasure I visited the Aircraft Carrier Midway, docked at the downtown wharf.  This has got to be one of the coolest museums you can visit next to the Intrepid in NYC.  This old aircraft carrier has been restored and is open to the public.  What a cool ship.  It was amazing to visit all the spaces and decks and see how sailors lived on this massive ship.  I have a son who just entered the Navy, another son in the Army as well as a daughter in law in the Army and my girlfriend has a son in the Navy.   We are very proud of our country’s military and especially those that serve because we know what these young people go through.  Anyway, back to the carrier.  I was also shooting the Fuji XT-1 during this trip for an upcoming article on Luminous-Landscape and decoded to try out a handheld multi row 23 image stitch image while on deck.  The above shot is a result of that.  The article will explain how it is done.

Classic Zion

Classic Zion
Classic Zion

A few weeks ago I was in Zion National Park shooting images that will be used in an upcoming video article on the Olympus EM1 and the Fuji XT1.  This is the classic shot for Zion.  Every National PArk has a spot like this.  At sunset you can’t even get a spot on the bridge where this was taken as there are usually dozens of photographers.  In any case I had fun shooting this and working the image to what I present here.

Scotland – When It’s Nice, It’s Nice

Castle Stalker
Castle Stalker

There is no place with more finicky weather than Scotland and Ireland.  when it is nasty it is just plain nasty but when it is nice you get the light that dreams are made of.  This was made during a wonderful week of photography in Scotland.  I am leading a workshop there this November with Steve Gosling and Joe Cornish who I consider to be some of the best landscape photographers there is.  Stop on over to Luminous-landscape.com and check the Scotland and other workshops out.

New Zealand Waterfall

New Zealand Waterfall

One of the most magical and photographic places I can think of is New Zealand.  I love NZ and it’s no wonder the Hobit is filmed here.  There are some of the coolest places anywhere to shoot pictures.  This one is one of my favorites.  It’s about an hours drive from Queenstown.

Sometimes I Have Other Fun

Kevin RAber - New Tool (toy)
Kevin RAber – New Tool (toy)

Ok, it’s no secret I have a real joy for taking photographs and spend just about all my waking days working on something related to my passion.  The Luminous-Landscape web site keeps me busy, working on future workshops takes time and writing takes times.  So, once in a while I need to go out and do something to relax.  There is nothing like Power Washing to satisfy that need and release my tensions.  This is a shot of me with my newest man tool – power washer.
