Ok, there are going to be a lot of iceberg images over the coming weeks, many of them in Black and White. This is a shot of two icebergs and I like the way they formed the composition. The gray sky and the blue of the bergs works well together.

Icebergs In New Zealand
This image was made at Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake by Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand with a Panasonic GH2, 7-14mm zoom at 14mm 1/500th sec. at f/8, ISO. 160. New Zealand has so much to offer photographers. Just an amazing place to take pictures and see amazing things.
On The Way Home
I am now in Oslo, Norway about to start the second leg of my journey back to home to Indianapolis. I have been away for 3 weeks and 16 of those days have been at sea leading two amazing photo workshops in the Arctic region of Svlabard, Norway. This was my second trip to Svalbard and it won’t be my last. I got to share this trip with some amazing people and take so many amazing images. We have polar bear pictures and one of them was on a kill. Walrus and Arctic fox. We shot an Ice Wall that is 100’s of kilometers longs with ware falls at just the right light. We shot a bird cliff where I have never seen so many birds. So, over the coming weeks you’ll find a ton of images here on a daily basis, plus give em a few weeks and I’ll have a trip log of this trip. I am home for a few weeks before leading a workshop in the Palouse. So, let’s start out with a classic Iceberg shot. Funny to all dressed up in winter gear in July.
Painterly Ice
I am always trying to do something new and different. This is an image that was an iceberg shot from the northern polar icecap area. I processed the image through one of the Topaz programs and added a painterly effect to it. It gives it a whole new feel.
Beautiful Ice
Icebergs are one of my trip loves. I love photographing them because in a short time the only thing that remains is a photo. This photo was made in Antarctica this past November. I under expose the image and then bring it back in my raw processor to give it drama.
Ice Is Nice
I just love ice. And, there is not better place than Antarctica to photograph icebergs. This one with the dark sky caught my eye and lens.
Humpbacks and Icebergs
There is nothing better than being amongst some amazing icebergs and have a whale sighting. For this image we were cruising in the iceberg graveyard when a humpback surfaces and the image was made even better by the iceberg background. This is what visiting the Antarctica region is all about.
Sunset, Oh Yeah
Ok, it’s a sunset. But, it’s a cool sunset. Antarctica has lovely sunsets. They last a long time and have amazing color. This was one shot from the ship after we finished an amazing zodiac cruise through the Iceberg Graveyard. A great way to end what had been a 20 hour day of photography.
Beautiful Light
Having just returned home from Antarctica I am now busy editing and working on over 7000 images made during the trip. This was one I liked a lot so far. Seal On Ice. As we were zodiac cruising the Planeau Bay where there are a ton if icebergs we came across this seal and just happened to have amazing light.
Back From Antarctica Again
I am now back in Chile after experiencing a totally awesome adventure with some totally great folks on The Luminous-Landscape Fly Over The Drake Antarctica Photography Workshop. The weather was absolutely great for the whole trip and the amount of images I have returned with are staggering. We experienced whales, seals, penguins and the most beautiful landscapes imaginable. Over the coming days I’ll be posting more images here and on f=Facebook pif this great trip.
