Today’s image was made yesterday at the Carmel, indiana – Artmobilia. a day of shutting down the city streets and brining in hundreds of collector’s cars. A great day with good light, great weather and hanging out with some fun photographer friends. I shot many images some with the iPhone and some with my other cameras. This is a shot done with the iPhone of a big engine. I enhanced it my iPad.
The back roads of the Palouse offer many surprises and that is one of the things that makes that area so special. On one of the back roads there is a place I call the Bell House. Simply because it has hundreds of bells all over the place. These bells line the pro[prty line, extend around the house driveway and everywhere. Big bells, small bells. Pretty cool hobby collecting bells. This is a shot of one of the bells. Just a fun shot.
It’s time to switch it up and move to other material then Palouse images. I have plenty more of great Palouse images and you’ll see those over the coming weeks. A few weeks ago I took a holiday with my oldest son and traveled from Naples area to the FL Keys together. It was an extremely good time. One of the stops we made while traveling through the Keys was a bar known as Alabama Jacks. Great food right on the water the place had a special kind of charm. I have my iPhone with me so I shot a fe images and then worked on them on my iPad. Here’s one of my favorites.
One of the cool things about the Palouse is there are a lot of old things just left sitting out. I found an old barn and in this barn was an old truck, tools and all sorts of cool stuff. Magazines dated back to 1945. What a place. I shot the heck out of this place and you will see more photos. This one is so simple it works. A light bulb. An old light hanging from the ceiling. I hope you like the subtly of it.
I am about to leave the Palouse after a terrific workshop. The attendees were great and the photography was outstanding. So much fun and a lot of great new friends. I don’t even know where to begin to describe this event and the images made during the event. All good. You’ll se more here over the coming weeks. Today’s image is what the Palouse is all about. The harvest of wheat and other crops. It is an amazing place and you just have to explore it, take a dirt road and see where it leads you. The light is magical and the landscape goes on forever. The other day I post a spectacular sunset shot. Today I post the pano version of the same sunset. My son and I were driving down the US1 Highway in the FL, Keys heading to Marathon. We had to pull over and shoot this. iPhone shot stitched and then enhances a bit on the iPad. This stuff is so much fun.
Last evening i was visiting some friends in Marathon, FL. This is one of my friends that I have stayed in touch with from High School and she has been working for years in keys with Dolphin. On the way there the sun was setting and I had my oldest son Kevin Jr. with me. And at his urging we pulled over and did a number of captures of a most magnificent sunset. This one shot jazzed up a bit in SnapSpeed on my iPad. IT was a very spectacular sunset!
The sun is going dow and a storm is rolling in and I am at a very Terminator movie looking place. No one is around yet there are all of these giant machines all around, wires and pipes running all over he ground. So, I saw this one shot and thought it would work. There are a lot more. This has wires going out to some building but I have no idea what any of this stuff is. Made for an interesting photo.
