On our trip to Antarctica we took a few day layover in Santiago. Here we enjoyed shooting the streets not only in Santiago but in Valparaiso. This is the perfect place to work with the Fuji X-T1 which I used to shoot these. This shot was of two parking lot attendants in Santiago.

Selfie
Everyone is doing to so why not me? This is a selfie I made recently on a trip to Chicago. Done early in the morning at the Bean when no one else was there. I had fun shooting reflections and trying to get something different. Mission accomplished!
Aqua Towers – Chicago, Take 1
I love Chicago. It’s one city I never get tired of shooting in. The architecture is second to none and offers the urban landscape photographer so many possibilities. This image was made right after sunrise of the Aqua Towers. This is a giant condo building that is designed to look like a wave. The trick is to use a long lens, expose for the highlights and shoot the building in high contrast with am abstract look. I shot this with a Fuji X-t1 and 55-200mm lens.
Lighthouse Two
Another lighthouse in Isle Of Skye. I exposed for the highlights or the lighthouse in this case. There were very dark clouds in the background so it was a dramatic look. Shot on the Fuji X-T1 with 55-200mm zoom.
Lighthouse One
The trip Scotland has been so much fun. If you ever travel to Isle Of Skye, bring good boots, waterproof pants and a good waterproof out shell. There are not to many places you can have wind, rain, rainbows and sun all at the same time. You need to be ready for the changing environment. This is a lighthouse that takes a while to reach by car but is really cool to shoot. I decided to turn the image into Black and White as the scene hardly had any color in it. This was shot with the Fuji X-T1 which I was using for the trip to write a story on. In this shot I really like the balance of the sea to the land and the contrast of the shot.
A Bit Of Abstract
If you have been following me for a while you know I love rust and decay. One thing I really love is peeling paint. I am thinking of doing project where all I shoot and show is peeling paint. The image above was made looking straight up at a ceiling in an abandoned house in the Palouse. I centered the lightbulb and like that with all the abstract of the peeling paint there is the circular object obviously man made. Fun stuff.
Gold and Browns
Where on earth can you find colors like these. The Palouse is like the color chip rack of a paint store. The is a classic example of the natural beauty in the Palouse during the harvest. Freshly plowed fields next to fields that have just been harvested. And, for a real treat you should see this place in the spring time.
Old Truck Headlight
In the Palouse as mentioned in previous posts there are a lot of abandoned trucks and cars, not to mention houses. This shot was made at the Texeco station where the owner collects old trucks. I loves the color, rust and especially the lines of the headlight and truck. So retro, so nice. Shot with a Fuji XT-1.
Barn and Window
If there is one thing that is symbolic in the Palouse it is the Red Barn. I had fun shooting this barn as I was looking for something bit more abstract. I thought the red color and single window worked here.
Trucks
While in the Palouse I have a favorite place I like to visit every time. It is an old Texaco Station that was moved to a location of a mechanic. He also has collected a large number of old trucks. You could spend several hours at this location shooting all there is on the property. This is a long lens shot I mad of the truck cabs.
