Today I share another stairway which I captured in one way and rendered in two versions. This was shot on an iPhone in the stairway at leica camera headquarters in Germany. I really like the way it looks and that you can’t really tell what it is. What do you think?

This is the first in a series of stairways I have been photographing around the world. This was shot in an old library in New Orleans.
If you have been following my work, you know I like simple compositions. I see things that many people wouldn’t find worthy of a photo. Like this shot of a switch and light bulb. It’s a simple composition that works. What do you think?
Another from my Seeing Double – Being Square project – Oil Cans. I have been working on this project for years, and I am Really getting close to wanting to publish a book on these images. It’s a series I am doing all shot on an iPhone with the Hipstamatic app and a special film and lens combo. Where ever I go even when shooting with my larger cameras I take a minute and shoot scenes with this setup. The image here was of oil cans found at an antique store.
Lately, I have been enjoying doing a lot of long lens photography, specifically with the 100-400 Sony GM lens. Thus, when I am on workshops that I run and have the chance to shoot wildlife, I work hard at getting extreme close-ups like this image. This was made in Svalbard of these wonderful walrus. I used a high shutter speed to capture the water, which I think adds to the picture.
More of my big pipes series. Shot in Buffalo, NY at the Buffalo Waterworks. This location has yielded some great images for me. I did this series in BW as it is a monochromatic location and the light plays so nicely with these big pumps and pipes.
Rust, yes I love rust and these are three rusty whale oil tanks from Deception Island in Antarctica. I just loved the way the light fell on these tanks for this image.
Svalbard is one of my favorite places to visit and do workshops, especially when we encounter these magnificent polar bears.
If you have been following my blog and photography, you’ll notice I tend to compose my images with a sense of symmetry. I like things balanced and equal, especially in the urban landscape, as seen in this image. To add to this image and keeping things balanced and equal, I cropped the image for square.
