I always have my camera with me. When visiting a hotel in Iceland I went to the elevator bank and while waiting looked down the stairway there. This is what I saw. what a great abstract. I shot it and then converted it into BW for this image.

Behind The Curtain
This is kind of an artsy image. I want the image to tell a story. This was made in an old church in New Orleans. We were on the upper floors and the stairway was undergoing renovation. The tarp for keeping dust out was pulled open and there was beautiful light coming through the plastic tarp as well as the stairs behind. Ask yourself, where do the stairs go, what is this place?
New Orleans Stairs
In April of 2016 I’ll be hosting workshop in New Orleans. New Orleans is one of the most interesting US cities with quite an interesting history. There are so many things to photograph in New Orleans. The streets are full of interesting people. There are impromptu parades and some very interesting architecture. This image was made in the stairway of one of the older libraries in New Orleans. I like the light playing on the walls and color cast. You always have to be looking for these type of photo opportunities. Shot with an iPhone.
Scotty’s Staircase
On one of my visits to Death Valley I visited Scotty’s Castle. This is a pretty cool castle located in the middle of the desert. Really hard to believe some guy a hundred years ago built a place like this. This image was made lying on my back and shooting straight up the circular staircase. Then I messed with it in pst processing.
