Norway Countryside

Norway countryside
Norway countryside

Norway is a very beautiful country with Waterfalls, lakes, and rolling his as well as some huge peaks with deep fjords.  I spent a week there a few years ago and I am now in the midst of planning a PODAS workshop there in 2014.  This is a shot I love just because the god of light was watching out for me.  The sun just hot this little farm perfectly.

Skeleton Boat

Rusty Ship in harbor of Buenos Aires
Rusty Ship in harbor of Buenos Aires

While wandering around the water front of Buenos Aires I cam to a series of derelict ships that look like they were tied to the docks there and forgotten.  This ship looked like it used to be some sort of big dinner cruise boat.   It was completely stripped and all the was left was rusting metal.  Now of course I love rust and decay and I really liked the symmetry.

The Redwood Forrest

One Of My Many Images Of The Redwood Forrest
One Of My Many Images Of The Redwood Forrest

In norther California there is magnificent area called the Redwood Forrest.  Giant moss covered trees and a beautiful area.  You can wander the road pull off and take a short hike into these woods and always come back with exceptional images.  I used a Phase One P65+ to do these shot.  The detail in the prints which I have enlarged to 48×55 is amazing.

Hurricane Ridge

Hurricane Ridge, Olympic National Park

This is a shot made in Olympic National Park. One of my favorite National Parks, mainly because there is so much diverse landscape to shoot. I made this on Hurricane Ridge and off of a fire road I ventured to travel on. The sky was so blue that day and the color looked so incredible. Once I switched it over to BW though the image just jumped. Shot with a Phase One P65+.

Need My Rust Fix

Rusty Tank treads and gears, Antarctica

Every now and then I need a rust fix and this is as good as it gets. I have been re-woring many of my images in my spare time and I just love the way this one looks. It was shot with a Phase One camera so detail and dynamic range are exceptional. It is a shot of a tank like vehicle used in Antarctica to get around in the snow. For some reason Antarctica environment makes the best rust. I just love the geometry and color of this shot.

Tanks In Antarctica

Tanks In Snow, Antarctica

Hard to believe that in such a pristine place you can find tanks. In antarctica on one of our stops we came across these tanks with aircraft rotary engines in a field near an abandoned US Research base. You must know if you are a regular follower that I have a thing for rust. And, of all places in this snow field I got my full dose.

Mt McKinley, Alaska

Mt. McKinley, Alaska

Alaska is an amazing state.  So many things to photograph. This is an image made right outside of Denali National Park and shows Mount McKinley which is usually obscured by clouds. I was fortunate enough to be in the Denali area for a few days of absolutely great weather. I have a few more of this magnificent mountain that I will publish in the future.

Waterfall Through Trees

Waterfall through the threes, Rickets Glen, PA

It feels so good to be shooting and especially when you are in the woods outdoors and stumble upon a shot like this.  This was at Rickets Glen in Pennsylvania.  Lots of waterfalls there.  This shot was taken through the trees (obviously).  I wanted to combine the fall colors with the waterfall equally.  I really love the feel of this image and how it is simple and pleasing to look at.  Shot with a P65+
